SUMMARY:Water Damage Restoration Technician
DESCRIPTION:The IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) 3-day course held from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm is the essential introduction to the science and practice of water damage restoration.  It is based on the IICRC S-500 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration. \nThe course presents all of the basic concepts of water damage\, its effects and techniques for drying materials and structures and will provide the background to understand the procedures necessary when dealing with water losses\, sewer backflows and contamination such as mold. \nKey topics: \n\n\nThe aspects of communication with customers and insurance companies;\n\n\nHealth and Safety;\n\n\nUnderstanding various materials and their drying characteristics;\n\n\nDescription and use of ventilation equipment\, dehumidifiers\, air purifiers;\n\n\nExtraction equipment\, importance and performance;\n\n\nEquipment set-up;\n\n\nThe science of drying and the decision making process;\n\n\nThe basics of microbiology.\n\n\n* To receive your WRT certification you must pass the final exam with 75% or higher. \n* This course qualifies for 14 continuing education credits (CEC) with the IICRC. \nCourse Details \n\n2 day course; 14 hours\, not including exam time\, lunch and breaks\nExam fee: $80.00 payable to the IICRC here – https://my.iicrc.org/eweb\nInstructor: Richard Driscoll
